You can save much money on airfare by becoming a courier. Couriers can fly overseas for as little as $99 and the only catch is they may experience a lay over of one or two days.

Companies that hire you as their courier expect you to give up your luggage allowance and travel only with a single bag or carry-on.

Couriers receive discount airline tickets when they work for a company that has hired them to carry shipping documents on their flights.

The reason why companies use couriers to move freight or important time-sensitive business documents or medicines is because it is faster and less expensive to ship it as luggage rather than as air cargo.

You can only bring carry on luggage as a courier. Your luggage allowance will be used by the courier company to ship materials overseas. That's why you had to give up your allowance.

You must make sure you can make the flight because courier tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. They are regular round trip coach tickets.

You may accumulate frequent flier mileage but you may not keep it. That is set by the company that hired you. Stopovers can be seven days with courier tickets.

Occasionally but rarely, stays can go on for up to half a year. You could be asked to be a courier on your return flight back home. Because you gave up your luggage allowance, it may be hard to bring back any shopping you had planned to do.

Sorry, but you probably won't be going to an exotic island on your courier flights. That's because most of the items you will handle will go to the main business centers of the world.

It's almost impossible to have two courier seats on the same flight. But you can still meet up with your companion if you are willing to be flexible with your schedule. You can probably meet each other at your destination within a day of your flight.
